SIckness

I’ve been sick all week. My wife flew out to Bangladesh at the start of the week, so I’ve been feeling incredibly sorry for myself. I’ve started to feel a little better today; so the opportunity to finally start this blog presented itself.

I’ve wanted to keep my thoughts somewhere; a diary seemed a little old-fashioned and a blog on any of my music-related sites seemed unnecessarily revealing. So this seems like a compromise. It’s not something I want to publicise, it’s just an area where I can put thoughts out, record events and post links to things I like.

I spent part of yesterday watching the Keith Lemon tour on youtube.

Many funny episodes. I caught him on MTV Cribs and, thinking he was a real person, had to investigate further. Turns out he’s another of Leigh Francis’s (Bo Selecta) characters. Far funnier, though. I suspect this is one DVD I will pick up on its release.

I’ve been trying to save money in light of the credit crunchie bar. Whatever that may be. Lehmans’ bankrupcy has put a friend of mine out of a job – along with 4,499 others. That’s a problem I hope I never have to face. I’m presently in the only permanent job of my career so far – that took 33 long years.

Recent Events.

In my world. I know what goes on in the outside world, I’m sure I’ll write about it soon enough. But for now:

  • I’m working voluntarily as Press Officer for Ambiguous Records which I’m really excited about. My favourite artist on the roster is Rob Marr. I have no doubt that there will be more written about him in these pages.
  • I’m releasing an EP for my ‘band’, Warning! Heat Ray! on October 6th. I released the 7″ single off it a few weeks ago, but the EP is digital only. I’m pleased to be getting it out ‘there’.
  • I’m supposed to be acting in Gillian Wearing’s new film. Not that I can act, but I was fortunate enough to be picked from my audition. I’ve been looking forward to it, but it’s taking a long time to come around. Supposed to be doing method-acting classes. Should be fun – or cringeworthy!
